In the fall of 2019, I threatened my friend Ken that I was going to have a halloween show at his record store ACME RECORDS using 7 or so of these noise boxes. I planned to have them set up around the store & have it open to the public so that anyone could come in and turn knobs on these things. It was destined to be an unruly day of noise and pain. It never happened.
This particular machine is built around the Arduino microcontroller, and utilizes the Mozzi software and 5 separate oscillators to create growls, sweeps, bleeps, chorusing atmospherics and just a bunch of beautiful noise. I replaced one of the potentiometers with a light dependent resistor (LDR) for added “hands free” chaos.
