DRY LAKE DISTORTION

I’m a great admirer of the band CORRUPTED.  How can you not love a Japanese drone/noise band who writes and sings their songs in Spanish?  They are also a fairly obscure project that avoids publicity & interviews…which to me, is pretty exceptional.

This particular effect comes from the great and generous mind who runs DIRTBOXLAYOUTS.  This circuit combines a Rat tuned for more low end with a silicon diode/MOSFET clipping switch. The signal is split into two signal paths using the Mid Scoop and Mid Boost tone sections from Boss FZ2, and finally is fed into a treble cut control and an output buffer.  It is a master device in getting those long, heavy sustains and decays.

I now have a tool that helps turn my basement practice setup into a CORRUPTED desolate lunar territory where droning guitars rule the wasteland (also see: EARTH – “Hex: Or Printing in the Infernal Method”).
