WHOA Complains
One of my favorite bands of all time was an outfit from Chicago called U.S. Maple. They were regularly described in reviews and write-ups as a band that “deconstructed” rock. The band members just considered themselves a rock band, and never agreed with the deconstructionist labeling. If anything, they took music, dis-assembled the notes, and simultaneously re-assembled everything to create music that will never ever be replicated. The live shows were really quite an experience.
This effect, which is built on a modified Clari(not) schematic, is pretty much a musical note dis-assembler/re-assembler. Though it won’t turn me into guitarists Mark Shippy or Todd Rittmann, it does the job in tricking my feeble, delusional mind into believing I am a 3rd guitarist in U.S. Maple.
